SUBIACO’S Ben Keevers and Blake Broadhurst will share a milestone match as they play their 150th and 100th WAFL matches this weekend.
Keevers is 27 yet is playing his 11th season of league football after making his debut against Claremont in round 3 in 2000.
He recalled Chris Lewis making things difficult for the Lions that day, in what turned out to be his only league appearance that season.
Initially a wing-half forward, Keevers has become one of the WAFL’s best defenders and his accolades include three premiership medals (2004, 06, 07) and three State games (2006, 08, 09).
Broadhurst (24) is aiming to become the second player to win the club’s fairest and best award in all three grades after Brian Taylor.
The Lions leading goal-kicker this season with 47 goals, Broadhurst won the Colts best and fairest in 2003 and backed up with the reserves award the next season.
After playing juniors at Warwick-Greenwood, Broadhurst debuted under Peter German in 2004 as an 18-year-old and won league premiership medals in 2006 and 2008.
